SWARG DWAR ASHRAM, a unit of the FRIENDS AND THE BIRDS OF THE AIR (FBA) is a home for the destitute and mentally challenged / physically handicapped fellow brethren. FBA, a unique movement of AKASAPARAVAKAL (Birds of the Air) was founded in 1993 and is led by Rev. Fr. George Kuttickal MCBS. FBA has similar ashrams across the country in the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
We rescue, receive mentally/ physically challenged brethren wandering in streets; terminally-ill patients languishing in hospitals; neglected, abandoned old / young ones from the streets, etc. We provide shelter, food, clothing, medicine and all other requisite facilities to the brethren to groom them lovingly. We provide the brethren back to the fellowship of society by the application of psychological, emotional and spiritual balm to the wounded souls. We reach the brethren top their family or rehabilitee them once they recover (physically/ psychologically) fully.
You can assist in rescuing those deprived brethren and reach them to the ashram;
You can visit the ashram and share your love and affection with the brethren.
You can voluntarily serve at ashram.
You can celebrate birthdays, anniversaries of your near and dear ones with the brethren, making such occasions more meaningful and memorable.
